Supervision

Supportive Relationship

I see our relationship as the foremost important element of our work together. Is there enough of a 'click' that trust can build? I take a holistic approach to supervision and I’m interested in knowing you both as a person and as a practitioner.

I’ve been working as a therapist for almost twenty years and as a supervisor for almost ten years. My core approach is person centred, and I have also trained in several other modalities which I incorporate into my work as a supervisor. I am a qualified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, yoga teacher and massage therapist and very  much draw on somatic experiencing in all my work. I consider my approach to be Somatic Psychotherapy.

Most of my work has been with people affected by trauma, whether directly such as survivors of sexual abuse, domestic abuse or torture, or whether as workers who are coming across trauma in a variety of settings. I have also worked in some more generic services where people presented with a range of issues.

I am particularly interested in themes of trauma, complex trauma, loss and bereavement, refugees, working across language & culture, spirituality, vicarious & secondary traumatisation and self-compassion.

I provide clinical supervision to both students and qualified, experienced practitioners. I also provide non clinical supervision to workers in a wide range of roles coming across trauma and distress in their work.

I can offer a twenty five minute no cost online session to explore whether working together in a supervisory relationship would be a good way forward.
