Walk and Talk

Therapy and Supervision Outdoors

'Walking is the best medicine ‘ Hippocrates (Greek doctor in 2400BC)

I offer walk and talk therapy and supervision during daylight hours in and around Kelvingrove Park

In some ways the content of these sessions might be no different to meeting face to face in a therapy room, and would naturally be determined by what you wish to use therapy or supervision to work on. On the other hand, they can be an opportunity to connect more with the natural world, include aspects of mindfulness and be a chance to be outdoors and moving. This can be especially welcome for those who are finding that their lives have become more computer based, static and indoors. Some people find that walking outdoors, side by side helps to open up areas that might not surface in face to face therapy indoors.

Before meeting outside, we’d have one appointment by zoom or face to face to explore the suitability of this way of working together and any concerns you may have, what kind of walk we’d do and how we’d would manage things like confidentiality as well as practicalities such as west of Scotland weather.

We would walk together at your pace, and could sit down too, if wished.

It might be that we work together in a combination of online or face to face and walk and talk. We can explore what might work best for you.

The sessions usually take 50 minutes, but longer sessions may be possible too, if agreed in advance.

'In every walk in nature, one receives far more than she seeks'
